Ventilator Mode Map, Google Play
Move over Candy Crush, there’s a new app in town – Ventilator Mode Map. With over 298 mode names on 36 different ventilators in the US alone, it’s very difficult to know which modes or settings to adjust, and when. This app is designed to implement the taxonomy (classification system) for modes of mechanical ventilation described by Rob Chatburn, MHHS, RRT-NPS, FAARC.
With this app you can identify ventilator name and manufacturer by photographs, list all mode names on every ventilator, show the classification of any mode, determine which modes are the same by classification but have different names on different ventilators, and list all model names associated with a given mode classification.
Ventilator Mode Map is making a case for the standardization of mechanical ventilation and should be on the mobile device of every practicing respiratory therapist. The app is currently available in the Google Play store but is coming soon to the Apple App store.
