David Vines Named Education Specialty Practitioner of the Year

This year’s AARC Education Section Practitioner of the Year award goes to David Vines, MHS, RRT, FAARC, of Rush University. Congratulations David!
The Education Section Practitioner of the Year award recognizes a respiratory care practitioner who works in the specialty practice and has earned special recognition through professional service, leadership, and scholarship.
David currently serves as Chairperson of the Department of Cardiopulmonary Sciences at Rush University in Chicago, where he oversees the academic functions of both the respiratory care and perfusion program. He has been recognized several times by his graduating classes with the Teaching Excellence award, he is also the contributing author to many articles and textbooks.
“Without a doubt, David ‘teaches’ more than respiratory care related material,” says Brady Scott, Director of Clinical Education at Rush University. “He often goes the extra mile to help many individuals find their true strengths as educators and leaders.”
