IngMar Medical Attends Round Table at Harvard Med School
IngMar Medical was invited to attend the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medicine School Round Table event on May 12, 2016. The Round Table focused on Challenges in Mechanical Ventilation and Airway Technologies and was attended by clinicians, academic leaders, and industry experts from across the globe.
“The purpose of this event was to identify necessary clinical research and seek out openings for technological innovation,” says IngMar Medical’s Clinical Educator, Amanda Dexter, MS, RRT, CHSE. “In the end, the findings from this Round Table are set to be published in a series of three papers which will identify the ‘gaps’ in anesthesiology, critical care, and respiratory therapy.”
One topic of particular interest to Dexter was asynchronies. Are asynchronies causing mortality? Is asynchrony a symptom of disease? How do PAV and NAVA affect cycle asynchrony? …
Also included amongst the “hot topics” was the debate over closed-loop ventilators. Are they what’s best for the patient or would filling the knowledge gap with education be a better approach?
By attending this Round Table event, Dexter says she gained tremendous insight into the important topics affecting respiratory therapy today and she looks forward to bringing what she learned to IngMar Medical, its products, and customers.
